Disk Image Restore to Azure VM. Limitations

General Considerations

  1. Generation 1 and generation 2 Azure VMs are supported (MBR and GPT). Note that in the restore wizard you can enable the Convert GPT to MBR option for proper functioning on target VM.
  2. Generation 1 VM maximum size is 1 TB.
  3. Disk size is limited to 2047 GB for system disks and 4095 GB for data disks.

Automatical Changes Applied To The Machine

  1. RDP is enabled.
  2. DHCP is enabled.
